Sitting here, keeping my fingers mentally crossed that I actually found the right size of jeans for darling daughter this time. Listening to some music just because I can and ended up with Lindsey Stirling and Tina Turner. To be more precise these two by Lindsey: Crystallize and Elements. With Tina I stumbled over something different considering those I’m used to hear, Sarvesham Svastir Bhavatu (Peace mantra). One of my friends on Facebook had added it and it stuck and I added it to my list of songs and other things on YouTube and was reminded that maybe I should try and make lists for what I’ve found so far? Maybe it will be easier to find?

Earlier today (before the hunt for jeans) I went through my e-mails and found something The Tarot Lady, aka Theresa Reed, had written. It was about Holding on and letting go. I found it really interesting to read and I can understand the problem she is addressing here. We don’t need to be mentally ill and hoarders of material stuff but we can have problems letting go of other things instead. Just a question of what each of us have to deal with, if it’s about things, emotions or any other that you can come to think of. Her idea is that these things has to do with fear. But she also firmly states that what she writes and tarot “is not a substitute for legal, medical or psychiatric help.” It’s good to remember that, those of us that do tarot or similar seldom have the authority to say anything about your physical or mental health or legal problems. And back to what I was talking about even if this was a good reminder perhaps for some. So she had made a small spread of three cards with each card addressing a question.

What can I expect if I let go?

How can I best support myself in this process?

Advice to move forward.

I wonder what cards and answers I would get, but on the other hand I’m pretty sure about what some of it would be about. Most of us do if we are really honest. But listening to the music I came to think of the Crystal Guidance Oracle that I haven’t had so much time with lately. Just out of curiosity I decided to ask if there is something special I should focus on that I might not be aware of. The card that comes up is Lepidolite and it says: The past is affecting the present. There and then it felt like this is about the same things that Theresa talks about in the above blog post. But curiosity makes me look at what else it says and this is it:

Crystal Guidance Oracle

Crystal Guidance Oracle

It’s associated with the 7th Chakra – Crown – “I understand” – Spirituality and enlightenment – Primary negative emotion: Attachement (!)

Element: Water – “I feel” – Emotional Body – The Water element rules over our emotions, intuition and our cycles in life.

And of course the Lepidolite – The past is affecting the present.

Third Eye Chakra and Water Element – This crystal also relates to the Crown and Heart chakras.

Lepidolite is known as the “Stone of Transition.” It works with you to bring positive change by releasing old habits and behavioral patterns that no longer serve your highest good. Lepidolite allows you to see past experiences as learning experiences. This includes releasing past emotional trauma that may still be affecting you in the present. Lepidolite is a stone for calming the emotions, reducing stress, and anxiety. Lepidolite contains lithium, which is a natural mood stabilizer. Due to this, it is beneficial for bipolar disorders and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD and ADD). Lepidolite is also helpful for absorbing and clearing electromagnetic pollution (EMF) that is put out by computers, cell phones, and other electrical devices. It is recommended that you place Lepidolite on your computer for combating EMF.

Lepidolite’s Message:

Someone or something from your past is still affecting you in the present. It is time to let go so that you can take a step forward, finally free of this burden. You may be worried about what your life will be like once you release the past. This change will ultimately bring you peace of mind and free you from some of the extra stress you have been carrying with you. Habits are hard to break, but you have what you need within you to walk away from the old and start making your way towards the new.

Ouch! More or less heads on. Wonder what will be added if I use a tarot deck?

Aleister Crowley Thoth Tarot

Aleister Crowley Thoth Tarot

I’m going to think about this some and take these two and send them to a friend of mine that want to try them out and see if she can work with them. I’m not using any of them at this time and I know I will have them back sooner or later. Hopefully she will find a way to understand what they are saying and have a book and deck of her own.

When I bought this deck it was very different from those I had before, Hanson Roberts and Arcus Arcanum, and I tried to get to know it, reading the book and figure out what thoughts and ideas they had for it. It never became any of my special decks and I don’t think it was until I found the Legend and then Druidcraft that I have really felt that these will be along for years! And Legend was with me for many years and Druidcraft is going strong too now so Thoth isn’t really my cup of tea even if I try it now and then.

It is amazing how fast our kids grow up! I felt as I just recently took all the clothes out of her wardrobe and sorted through them and removed all the ones that is to small. I carried away two bags to our local Rescue the Children Foundation that has a second hand shop where they sell clothes and things for kids and adults. Mostly kids and I  have done some amazing finds there during the years I can tell you. Now it’s getting a little harder since at this age they start to wear them out so jeans and such can be a real gamble. If you’re lucky you can find, but mostly not. Today as I sit here waiting to go get the leggings that is getting washed right now, I have filled another bag with clothes! Not to mention the bag I carried over to a friend of hers that might be able to wear them… clothes I got from a friend in my turn and that I know that my daughter will never be able to wear. Hopefully someone else will enjoy them instead.

Besides that I’ve been looking at the sales in hope of finding something that might work during the fall or maybe could be used next spring or summer. We’re not talking a kid that is picky about what to wear yet. Maybe in a couple of years or when she’s reached her teens. The sad part is that clothes for the coming winter might not be on sale yet so I hope some of those she already have will fit to begin with. And if not there is always on the wish-list for grandparents and other friends that might be just as happy buying her some nice clothes instead of yet another toy or whatever comes to mind that is fun for the moment and then collects dust in any odd corner or shelf.

I like going around with my camera, those of you who read or at least now and then take a look in here have seen that. I’m no pro and neither is the camera, not an expensive one either. Of course I would love to have something a little more advanced some day, but who knows, maybe one day. So the other day I got a comment on an earlier post from a guy named Daniel who happens to have a blog that is called Grow up proper. It was a little different and he is actually the first one who’s asked to use one of my photos so I feel a little flattered. Here is the post where I used my photo and talking about “Why we ask for other people’s opinions“. Interesting read so please take a look at it. And here is to Daniel as a thank you for being so kind as to ask for permission and add a link to this blog. This photo is taken several years ago at a place called Niemisel early in the morning, around 4 or 5 am perhaps. Late hubby and I had been fishing all night and it was a spectacular show from Mother Nature.

Currently listening to the recording at the Gaian Tarot Forum about who am I currently and what is the best self into whom I can evolve. Interesting questions by James Wells. But it’s almost over and it ain’t really time for me to try that out yet. Later today or maybe some day during the coming week as things look like now.

So, what about Gothenburg and horses? No, we haven’t been to the town Gothenburg, we watched the ship Gothenburg arrive in one of our harbours this Thursday. It took a lot of time so I guess many kids were getting impatient and those with not so good physical health might have been into a trying situation. I was there to see the ship with my daughter, even if many came there because there were royalty on board. The crown princess of Sweden, Victoria, would officially open up the area that has been changed to work better for the future. But after one hour of waiting, a salute and time passing beyond dinner time there was a young one who told me that her tummy was sooo empty. I was prepared I can tell you, I knew it was coming so I had decided we would go someplace and have some dinner before we got home again. Children and empty stomachs isn’t a real good travel companion. Neither am I by the way… me and empty stomach – big no-no. My late husband learnt that early in our relationship. But as we sat there with our food (daughter ate much more than I did so she was really hungry!) I remembered this new shop that opened up earlier this summer. They sell bread, from their own small bakery and only sourdough in different variations. We ended up buying two different ones, one a little darker and as the woman standing at the desk said, children like that one. Well, then she doesn’t know my daughter, she surprises people now and then. Best part is that you can buy a big or small piece of bread depending on how much you need, and pay by weight. I will return there, trying to remember when I’m into town that last stop before going home will be that little shop. One of the breads we finished yesterday and the other is only a couple slices left by now.

So the horses part then… I was crazy about horses when I was a kid and I still love horses, so does my daughter. And I really hope I can let her take lessons one day, there is so many fun things to do in a stable and on the horse back. Or why not go by carriage? One of the stables that offers riding lessons and lots of other things too, were celebrating their 20th anniversary at their “new” place so the kids could sit on a horse and walk around a short round, going with horse and carriage, have a hot dog, lemonade, or coffee or tea for the adults. All for free! Guess who was taking her chances… oh yes, my daughter. She went riding four times and I think just as many with the horse and carriage. I went with her one time and the rest of it I watched her with a big happy smile, or focused on the movement of the horse. Then there was people who sold things they didn’t need any longer, horse related of course, but we didn’t stay there for long. They had some girls doing a shows with dressage and others with jumps. Besides that there was a woman showing some Zumba and turned out she was an excellent rider too. Those poor guys that came from one of the basketball teams weren’t just as good. But they did stay on the horse even if their feet was halfway to the ground, and it wasn’t a pony they were riding either.

Finally those hours they had this event was going towards the end and a very happy girl, tired, thirsty and babbling endlessly about what horses she will have when she’s growing up and all that. I didn’t tell her that having a horse requires a lot of time and money that might not be there for her, if her interest is still big enough for it by then. But continue riding and be around horses even if you don’t own them is ok too. When we got home we were very pleased to just sit down, have some dinner and watch a movie and slept very well when we went to bed both of us.

Here are photos from both days, enjoy.

Chakra Guidance Oracle Cards

Chakra Guidance Oracle Cards

A new oracle deck, what else? This one is called Crystal Guidance Oracle by Jen Faeline. You can also find her at Youtube where she gives a short presentation of the cards.

I didn’t know much about the deck to begin with, either than seeing her photos on Facebook with suggestions of stones for different situations. And when I found out she had a website and these oracle cards, I couldn’t resist trying them out. Placed my order and within a week I had it in my hands. Positive side was it isn’t very big, as Jen says herself, about the size of an ordinary deck of playing cards. I chose to order my deck with the additional chakra cards since I know myself too well, if I don’t I will regret it later… so done and happy with it. On the back of each of the seven chakra cards she’s added information on each of the chakras. Just to grab the one that was on top it says on the back: “I know” – Spirituality and Enlightenment“. That is followed by where on the body this chakra it’s located, colors, crystals, essential oils and herbs. She also tell us what parts of our physical body it is connected with, emotional sides and life issues. These cards are the same size as the crystal cards so they fit right into the little box they arrive in.

Closer look at the cards

Closer look at the cards

The crystal cards are 45 in number and each card has a frame in the same color as the chakra it’s associated with. Above the photo of the crystal, that she has excellently thought about having many of the same one since they can look a little different, it’s clearly visible the name of the crystal and at the bottom, with a stripe of light grey, you can find the symbol for the chakra and the element. But then there are some that doesn’t have the usual symbol for elements but rather a circle with all the element colors added. These Jen call Storm or Spirit cards since they belong to all elements. But, how are we supposed to know about how to interpret these crystals if we don’t know very much about them. Well, there is always the use of intuition or the internet, but fear not. She has sent a link to a page where you can download a pdf-file with everything you need to know about the crystals, the elements and chakras. I’m sitting with that and trying to translate it just to make it easier on myself and those who might want to draw a card and find this language a little hard to understand, at least some words. And there is always the days when you have that famous mind fog, you know what that word is, but no matter how you try it’s not there in your own language.

But that isn’t all, there is also some extra cards that give us some ideas about the oracle, why she created them and the crystals on the photos. There is also one that give some ideas of how to use them, one with the chakras and their location on the human body and three cards with some short info about each chakra and two with the elements. Last there is one about Jen herself where she tells us how come she began with crystals and stones to begin with.

Lapis lazuli owes its blue color to a sulfur r...

When I got them I just had to try them out in some way so I pulled a card at random and found Lapis Lazuli. On the card it says “Seek the Truth”, it’s connected to the crown chakra and the element of air. Then I, naturally, started to look for it in her pdf. Here I could read that it is also connected with the throat chakra and known as the “Stone of Total Awareness”. It will help me see the truth in all situations and enhances intuition and psychic protection. It can be a shield against negative energy and also assist with depression. This isn’t all, but some and then there was this message:

“Look for the truth behind the situation. What is it that you are not currently seeing? Take the time to look at things from all different angles until you find the missing piece of the puzzle. Once you find the truth, everything will start falling into place.”

All crystals have a message and some have an alternative divination meaning too.

I think this oracle will be interesting to get to know, it even made me think of taking out what stones and crystals I had before, and stored away when little one was very young and then I hadn’t any really good place to put them. But now, feeling that it’s time to bring them out again, I’ll see where they could have a place where they will be safe. I know a certain family member who will be excited to see them, touch them and ask about their names. Will be interesting to see if I remember the names for them, some yes, others… probably not.

Moon, Venus and Jupiter

Moon, Venus and Jupiter (Photo credit: harshanm)

Sitting here, tired, young ones first day at school over and next one begun. Well not really first day, she’s a second grader now. When I sat here yesterday and tried to collect my thoughts and keeping my brain awake she was already sleeping. Today I’ll need coffee to stay awake all day and hoping it will work. Reading a book by P.D. James ain’t the right thing to do when you need to sleep in the evening… so coffee will hopefully help some. Add a Full Moon or a Blue Moon to that and it can become really interesting to sleep.

I found another spread that I don’t think I’ve used before by Diane Wilks at Tarot Passages that seemed sort of fitting. And adding to that late night and only four cards makes it even better. This one is called Once in a Very Blue Moon and I was using my Tarot of the Gnomes mini deck, bought in San Fransisco at SF Bats in 2007 by Dan Pelletier from Tarot Garden.

Over to the spread then, I really need my lunch and that coffee!

This deck isn’t anywhere close to a RWS clone so enjoy the photo and hope you find them as fun as I do.

So, what in me is unique and rare with 5 of Wands, that poor rodent getting whacked over his/her head with that club? The word on this card is Growth. Growing from keeping out of trouble or harms way? Or maybe life has already given me a blow or two to learn from and also knowing how other people probably feel in similar situations… just maybe. Still think my brain is a little tired, or maybe already sleeping and dreaming on the pillow.

Second then, what unusual subject(s) should I focus on in the coming month. With a grumpy magician mending shoes I would love to hear an idea or two for that! First thing I hear in my mind is “finish the things you’ve started”. Oh, like finishing the cleaning and sorting of things here at home maybe? Even if it’s boring, I don’t like it, it has to be done. It will make me a lot happier in the end, getting rid of things not necessary any longer and trying to fix the things that needs fixing if it’s possible.

Oh joy… finding this card for what I should do that is out of the ordinary this month. Whack someone over the head? I don’t have a husband that would try to sneak back home after a late night with the boys so what is this about? He doesn’t look like a burglar anyways. Is there something that’s been annoying that I finally deal with even if it’s not the most suitable way to handle it? I’m looking forward to get to know the answer for this! Someone trying to tip-toe away from their responsibility for something again and I’m so ready to deal with it?

The message from the Blue Moon for me seems sweet enough with the Ace of Cups, but one shouldn’t look to deep in that cup perhaps, it can become a little to much fun. But maybe it’s about time to let loose some, not being so serious, always the one who takes responsibility and being the adult. Just not drown myself in that cup, but having a little fun.

Just wait and see then what this will turn out like. Been some time since I used this deck reading for myself, but it was fun.

Another try since I accidentally deleted all that I had written yesterday, and no I hadn’t saved anything. I usually just decide what to write about and then go on writing whatever comes to mind, or whatever my brain isn’t trying to tell me is all wrong, you can’t write like that, people will think you are nuts, and so on. Over to what I was trying to say yesterday. It’s raining a lot today so I can do this as well as anything else, daughters room wont disappear or clean itself of things not necessary any longer.

The Ace of Cups was named after the tarot card...

So, as I mentioned in my previous post about time and how fast it seems to go made me start thinking about timing with tarot. Some of you will immediately say that it isn’t possible to tell time in any way, others will say it is so, more or less exact from season to the exact day. Myself? Depends on, sometimes there is this feeling of things coming fast or not at all, or seeing pictures in my mind of a season. But trying to pin it to exact day might be a little to much. As many of us probably have done, I’ve tried different spreads dealing with timing, but I can’t recall anyone that really have worked so well that I will rely on it without a doubt in my mind. Oh yes, there are spreads about timing, just a question of how many cards/positions and if you really need one.

There are all sorts of ways to predict time, the simplest ones would be seasons with the Minor Arcana, like swords-spring, wands-summer, cups-autumn, pentacles-winter and Major Arcana for now or undetermined. This is just one of many ways with what suit connected to season. When I began I was taught a completely different way with wands-spring, cups-summer, pentacles-autumn and swords-winter, and I believe there are many more ways to put it depending on what path we follow. And if one look into astrology there are yet different ways of adding “time”. I’m thinking of how we add  zodiac signs to different cards, planets and where you can divide the Minors into dates depending on what zodiac sign they fall into. This isn’t one of the areas where I know much so I wont go into it any more. There are also the ones where you say that, for example, wands-days, cups-weeks, pentacles-months and swords-undetermined and Major Arcana can be now or already started. I’ve seen different ways of interpreting this too so this one is just one of many.

Spreads then, oh yes, I have a few. If I’m not altogether wrong I had a version of the Celtic Cross where they added some additional cards and one was a timing card. Then I’ve used 5-cards where you put a card in each direction and the middle card will tell the time, or if you trust your intuition you might use any of them to tell time (or direction for that matter). Then there is the ones where you use three piles of cards, those I’ve seen use either 9 or 13 in each pile. If you reach an ace before that you stop and go on with the next pile. Those are telling us about when things will happen as far as I understand, used for yes and no too. Depending on the aces and if there is reversed cards it can tell about what season things will start happening or ending, or if they will happen at all.

Ace of Wands from the Rider-Waite Tarot deck, ...

Recently I stumbled over a spread from Tarot Card Combinations by Dorothy Kelly and it had a different approach. Lets see if I can describe it without getting to confusing. You start with the question and if you wanted to you could choose a card as a sort of significator for this question. Then you, hopefully, have an idea of what season you associate each Minor Arcana suit with and start shuffling the cards. When you are ready you start turning the cards up one by one until you reach the first Ace. This card will tell you what season it’s all about, and you can put it to the right of your significator if you have one. Now, pick up the rest of the cards and start shuffling again. This time you will start the same way but stop when you reach the first card of the same suit as the Ace. So if you got the Ace of Wands, you are looking for any of the other in the suit of Wands, for example 3 of Wands. This card will tell you how many weeks into that season it will be. Since we don’t count the Aces we have 13 weeks at each season. When we are done we pick up the remaining cards, shuffle and start over again until we reach a Major Arcana card, this tell us how many days. If we got The Hermit here it would be 9 days around the third week of spring. It would look something like:

S… AoW… 3oW… IX

But how do we know when the seasons start? We don’t. I just decided for myself that I would make it like Spring will be March-May, Summer June-August, Autumn September-November and Winter December-February. There wasn’t any example or idea of how to do that, living in the northern hemisphere I used what was most natural for me. I guess one could use the Solstices and Equinoxes too and sort of divide those 13 weeks equally around them.

If anyone of you would try this one and find out that it works, or doesn’t work, it would be very interesting to hear about it. I have tried it, the answer for it was late April next year so I’m not sure I will either remember this or if I even care by then. Oh well, time for some real life issues then. Daughters room calls again. Almost done.

I just have to say that time does fly! I feel we just started out with daughters summer holiday and next week they are starting again! Up in the morning, and none of us a morning person, and make sure things are in order home and for school. There is a little chill in the air and evenings ain’t that warm that they used to be so autumn is on its way. There are positive sides of this too of course, the beautiful colors, the crisp air and as said before all the berries and fruit that will be ripe now.

Spent a week with my mum and it’s been lovely, not much of an internet connection so mostly internet free, but eating strawberries, raspberries and fresh greens beats that without a doubt. I got some time to myself too in the evenings and did a spread for the new moon and there was some interesting things happening. Had me thinking since I used my Ghost and Spirits Tarot by Lisa Hunt and I’m not using that one very often really. As I said in my previous post I sent my Druidcraft to a friend in need and it arrived and worked great for her. I ordered a new one and I already got it, just have to find something to keep it in to protect the cards from accidents and chances of losing one or two just because they don’t have a box or something like that to stay in. I sent my old one with the crocheted bag it had just to make it easier for my friend to store it at her place. I’ll show some photos from our stay with mum in the end of this post, just going to put in that spread I did first.

So, after trying to figure out what cards and how to interpret them I wrote the following, and since it was the second spread I tried I figured it was best to relax and hope there would be a flow as usual.

1. The Hermit –  What lays on your dark depths. What is unseen. What we stumble against in the dark nights.

We stumble over our own inner self, our own source, no matter how dark and terrifying it may seem. But there is also a light in there if we just can believe that we can see it and open ourselves to it. There is so much more besides what we believe in.

2. The Wheel – What will begin to show, to arise.

What has been and what will be shows itself in different ways. Things we’ve just let laying around we have to start working on and our “skeletons” in the wardrobe, the unrestful spirits, will be put to rest.

3. 2 of Pentacles –  What will illuminate the dark path. The key in the night.

There are many things that show themselves in the dark, some scares us, like a “haunted house” at a fair, while others give us comfort and hope. The key is to see all parts of ourselves and our existence and that none of this will hurt me if I’m not letting fear overcome me.

0. Justice – Yourself. Shadow card, from the base of the deck.

This is me in balance and harmony. Where light and dark are different sides of the same coin. Sun and Moon. Yin and Yang.

Some other things that’s been happening around me seem to be connected with dreams, mine and others, and interpretations of things in cards. Who knows what it will all become in the end? More time to think next week when school starts over and I can go back to finding myself a job and hopefully have one.

These are some photos I’ve taken lately, hope you will enjoy some of them.
