I’ve been like a happy kid since the mail arrived today, finally I had my Ghost Tarot. At the same time as I of course think it’s fun to show my daughter, the few times that I do buy my new decks and other things I’ve bought now and then, it is something special with opening it myself and take my time to look it through, see that no cards are missing, make my mind up about what I’m looking at. And now it’s Ghost Tarot where Davide Corsi is the artist and Lo Scarabeo are the Publishers. No fancy book for it just the famous Little White Booklet (LWB) with several languages as usual. In this LWB there is also a spread of five cards that is simple but useful.

The cards then? They are pretty dark but not depressing or scary. More sedately and thoughtful, a little sad mostly. So it might be the deck I’m reaching for when I want to lift up joy, light and love but want some deeper ponderings, more introverted and thoughtful.

Many of the pictures I recognize parts of from RWS even if many of the cards have their own touch on it and give other thoughts and insights than usual. So far I’ve just done this interview with a new deck spread so time will tell what it will be, one of my top five or one in the collection that I’ve bought and then kept because I like the art in it.

If you want some other people’s opinions you can read some Reviews on Aeclectic Tarot . Hope it will be interesting for some of you.

Interview with Ghost Tarot

First card is The Fool that is about what it wants to tell me about itself and what it’s most important characteristic is. This is a deck that despite it’s sort of dark and solemn expression will be open for what is coming and look at what is important, central, in what is happening. And not forgetting those who follow you on your path no matter how insignificant they may seem.

Second card is 7 of Swords about what it’s strength is as a tarot deck. The stronger sides seems like that there in the darkness and solitude, when you are all by yourself and moving quietly through the moonlight you will both see and know what is important here, what you need to bring you with you on your travels from where you are.

Third card is 8 of Swords for this decks limits. Those are the ones you might see when you are really stuck in your own situation, mirroring your own hard times, to dare take the step outside your boundaries. It might not be the one you turn to when you are unsure of where you will go, stay or walk away.

Fourth card is 4 of Swords for what it brings to the table – what it’s here to teach me. It brings a stillness, ask me to turn inwards and search for my answers and solutions on my problems. Let things go the way they are meant without trying to control every step on the way.

Fifth card is 3 of Swords for how I best can learn from and co-operate with it. I have to be prepared to find answers from unexpected sources. It’s about seeing things that you’re not always ready for, the helping hand that is offered and that you can offer others.

Sixth card is 2 of Swords for what is the possible outcome of our working relationship. This one offers many alternatives, maybe not a straight yes-no or you should do this instead of this. More a chance to see the alternatives and then make up your mind on what to do, choose the path, talk about it, discuss and sometimes bring out the playful side.

Ok, it’s been quite some time again since last. This time it’s been a combination of extreme heat, lack of inspiration and well, many other things happening that has made me forget about writing. And at this very moment I’m going nuts because of some auto-correct that has decided to kick in and adamantly changing words beginning with a W and some others, should without exception be spelled in a capital. Really annoying! I hope I can find out where to change that.

Otherwise then? It’s been really hot for a month or so, no rain except for short spells and no change in heat. Even my daughter who loves to be outside and play stayed inside until the afternoon or so. Way to hot even for her. It’s been sort of a lovely time even if I’m no big fan of that extreme heat but as a compensation for the not so fun start it’s been ok. Now we are heading for cooler temperatures and school is about to start all over again. But before that we have had time with a meeting of most of my cousins from my mothers side. Great fun and a span in age from late 30 to past 60. As one of the wifes of one of my cousins put it “You are a strange lot, you might not have met for 15 or 20 years, or at all with some, and then you meet and it is as if you started the conversation where you left out last time!” And some other interesting things was hearing about my grandparents history, where they started out and where they moved later, seeing the place even if it’s not exactly the same any longer. And to count to 29 cousins and 24 of them come is really great.

Ghost_Hunters_logoBut over to the subject that I had in mind. Yes, I’m interested in the paranormal and I had the chance now that my computer doesn’t run red hot in 5 minutes because of the heat indoors I’ve been able to watch some different tv shows, among them Ghost Hunters with T.A.P.S. I must admit they are among my favorites. They have a way of treating things professionally, using their own senses as well as technical equipment but not assuming that it will be paranormal without trying at least to find a natural explanation. How many who claim to have seen apparitions and shadows have thought about high EMF ratings, knocking explained by pipes and other things like that? I know from my own experience that it’s hard to tell sometimes, is it a reflection in a pair of glasses, car lights passing or something else, or is it something not of this world?

Others I’ve been watching lately and since before are Ghost Adventures, Most Haunted, The Dead Files and A Haunting. The difference between them are pretty wide. In Ghost Adventures we see these three guys going from one haunted place to another and it is interesting too. Differences between them and Ghost Hunters would be, besides they both have a lot of technical stuff, that these guys are more provoking, try to force some kind of reaction and many times find “bad” spirits or what some call “demonic” activity. Still interesting though.

So, Most Haunted, a british tv-series that I don’t know if it still is around, I checked and it seems like there will be new material coming. I found it interesting in the beginning when I could watch it several years ago, mainly because there wasn’t many programs on tv where you could see paranormal things that was documentary and not some movie. With time I grew a little tired of them, to much hysterical screaming, theatrical acts from a medium and seances with glasses and stuff. Not to mention how many times they had poltergeist activity and other things happening. Ok, they were at many interesting and historical places, but I do think that the spirits doesn’t wait for anyone to show up and do something to prove their existence just because a tv-team shows up. I have some memory of reading something about things were set up and made more interesting than they actually were.

The Dead Files is another one I discovered recently, I don’t know really what to say about it. I like the research made about the places, if there is something that has happened and so, and the fact that they try to avoid having photos and other personal stuff visible for Amy when she’s there trying to find out what is there, if it is something. Fake or not, time will tell.

So finally there is A Haunting, not any ghost hunting in this, more like accounts from eye witnesses  about things they’ve heard, seen or experienced in their homes or other places. True or not, but I started wondering if there is something especially wrong in the US since so many places seems to have some kind of “evil” entities residing. Or is it just the fact that people are more interested in finding “evil” things there? I guess we have our fair share of spirits that is not so friendly, just that it doesn’t turn into some tv-show here. And how come that everything is labeled as “evil” or “demonic”?

tumblr_inline_mxkg1c3b6H1su5ae7Yes, I have my share of experiences too since childhood, some of them I can probably find a natural explanation for today, and as an adult, but some still leaves a ? after. I don’t know actually, a creation of a vivid imagination and finding the dark scary, maybe situations where you are somewhere between sleeping and awake, that dream state where so many things can happen. Still I can’t explain away being shooed out of one room and arriving to the bedroom and feeling a presence there too trying to get me out of there. Not in any bad way, just wanted me to leave. I got a little irritated at that moment and told whatever was there that it was my room and I was going to bed, thank you! The reaction was sort of funny, almost as if someone was saying “Oh, sorry!” and disappeared. There has been other things happening too but this is long enough by now. I think you want to do something else before it’s time for bed.
